The day that I was promoted to Marketing Director at MediaVue, I started making a plan to redesign our website. I had been with marketing department at the company for 9 months but we hadn’t paid any attention to updating the existing site.
Our old site had some out-of-date messaging and wasn’t representative of where we wanted to go. I wanted to create a site that would position MediaVue as a though leader in the digital signage space because the company has been focused solely on digital signage since 2007.
I set out to create a strategy to leverage internal expertise to create blogs and articles that would then be distributed with an “omni-channel” strategy to drive traffic to the content. After the strategy was in place, I turned to UI/UX designer, SooHo Choi, to help with the user research.
SooHo and I first spent two weeks researching our user’s needs and creating an information architecture. Then we created low fidelity wireframes and slowly filled them out to create a high fildelity wireframe. That process took nearly three months for the two of us to craft the messages and create the entire design.
Next, we spent three months building out the actual working website using the Wix online editor.
There were tons of unexpected obstacles along the way. SooHo ended up having to go home to South Korea for a few weeks and I got bronchitis that wouldn’t go away for a month. We ran into walls with the messaging. We got stumped with the images. We kept pushing to develop a better product.

All told, we spent almost six months rebuilding the website. I am very pleased with the result, which has lots of information spread across dozens of pages and posts. I wrote 8 blog posts and four case studies to go along with the launch.
Since we went live in mid-February 2020, the site has seen a dramatically lowered bounce rate. Our user data is still unsteady but is slowly increasing. I look forward to sharing more data as we collect it.
We enabled a chat bot on the site using HubSpot and get 2-3 messages a day from interested prospects. This has been a great addition that I have been managing as I guide our team towards using HubSpot more.
